It’s always funny looking back at the last time I posted, to try and read the mood. I can honestly say I had no clue back in January that anything like what we’ve seen would or could happen.
But today I don’t want to look back on pandemic and race riots and murder hornets and the yawning chasm that has divided the country. There will be a point down the road where I can look back and reflect but today it’s still going on and still fresh and today is not that day.
So instead today I’m going to be a little selfish and a little thankful. We have our health, we have our jobs, and we have each other. Quarantine life has really encouraged us to work on both ourselves and our relationship. It’s helped us to face our fears and anxieties, forced us to recognize and prioritize the things that are really important to us, and hopefully made us stronger.
To anyone who might read this I want to encourage you in these days and offer a little bit of advice. Don’t wait for things to go back to normal. Take an active role in decisions that affect you NOW, because it’s not guaranteed that life post Trump/Pandemic will be anything like it was before. Build the muscles to be more comfortable with uncertainty and ambiguity.
Be brave. Take risks.
It’s gonna be a whole new world. Let’s make it a good one this time.
